Recurrent education
“Recurrent education” has been drawing attention in recent years. The education allows adults to continue to learn throughout their lives after graduating from school. Through the education, people can update their knowledge and skills necessary to keep up with trends and jobs.
You have heard a similar term to recurrent education, which is “lifelong learning. The purpose of it is to enrich daily life, and the education includes hobbies and sports. Recurrent education, on the other hand, is focused on work-related things, such as various certifications and business skills.
In Japan, some companies are focusing on recurrent education. For example, Sony has introduced a flexible career leave system, where some employees can take up to two years off from work to pursue an MBA at a university.
When you are working, there are more or less moments when you think that “you could handle your tasks more efficiently if you had these skills”.
I would be happy if this discussion could increase your interest in learning itself.
<Questions>
1. What have you learned on your own intention so far after compulsory education? (Experiences, specific qualifications and skills)

2. What would you like to learn now / in the near future? And why?
Please share with each other effective approach / recommended books etc. in order to learn efficiently.
3. Should companies encourage employees to do recurrent education?
What skill / knowledge should they learn?
