What is next TOEIC?

I’ll change a job this June. During the job hunting, some interviewers checked my English-speaking skills by asking me questions in English. One of them asked me whether I have taken an English-speaking test before or not. I have not taken any speaking test before, but I could speak English fluently during interviews and prove my English proficiency thanks to E’s club activity. The experience made me feel that taking TOEIC L&R is not enough to appeal to my English skills for job hunting. Also, I saw some articles that some companies do not use TOEIC to measure employees’ English skills. It is a better time to think about how to prove our English skills without TOEIC L & R and I would like you to do that through this discussion.

<Questions>

1. Did you take TOEIC L&R recently? Why or why not?

2. Some companies do not use TOEIC L&R score to measure English skills. What do you think about it (agree or disagree)? Are there any positive or negative points you come up with?

3. Should companies continue to use TOEIC L&R score to check employees’ English skills? If yes, please explain the reasons. If not, please propose alternative tests or ways. I would like you to share your group’s opinion after the discussion.
