≪FIRST HALF≫

<Agenda>

Have you ever studied or worked abroad in your life?

  Have you ever studied or worked abroad in your life? Have you ever stayed abroad for a long time? Not a few E’s members have had that kind of experience, while there are some members who wanted to do that but could not for some reason.

   In the first half, we would like members to talk about the topic related to studying/working abroad because the border has been open these days.

<Questions>

1. Have you ever studied or worked abroad?

1-1. If Yes, please share your experience. (country, city, language, what you did. What difficulties you had, etc.)

1-2. If No, did you want to study or work abroad? Which county did you want to visit? What did you want to do?

2. Do you think that Japanese people should study abroad more?

3. Do you think that studying abroad/working abroad  is the best way to improve English proficiency? If you have some experience about it, please tell us your opinion based on your experience.

Reskilling

The World Economic Forum report published in October 2020, which says the rapid acceleration of automation and economic uncertainty caused by the pandemic will shift the division of labor between humans and machines, leading to 85 million jobs being displaced and 97 million new ones created by 2025. No matter what industry you are in, technology and economic demands are changing with unprecedented speed. And disturbing events like the COVID-19 pandemic have only accelerated this trend. In this new world, companies and individuals who cannot adopt the new environment are likely to fall behind.

  Reskilling is the process of learning new skills so you can do a different job. Unlike upskilling, which focuses on adding to an existing skill set within a role, reskilling refers to the process of learning new skills needed to do an entirely different job. It is an essential strategy for organizations to meet their staffing needs and succeed in a changing world. For individual employees, reskilling can present opportunities to change roles in their current organization or at a new company. Examples of reskilling can cover anything from retail store workers retraining as customer support specialists, to warehouse workers becoming robot technicians, to accountants becoming data scientists.

   In today’s rapidly changing environment, the necessity of reskilling is negligible for workers. You may face the need for reskilling in the future. Let’s think about this issue this time.
