≪FIRST HALF≫
<Agenda> Career Plan

How people make their career plan is recently changing.
Lately old systems like the seniority system and the lifetime-employment system are collapsing. Life span is becoming longer and you might live longer than 100 years. It might be difficult to work for only one company through your lifetime.

≪LATTER HALF≫
<Agenda> If We Could Peer Into Their Mind

<Article>
 Developments in economy, science and other disciplines over these decades have been unspeakable. We are now able to get to the far side of the planet in hours, and it won’t take even a second to make a purchase using cryptocurrency. The standard of our life has indeed improved, but that doesn’t mean we live a happier life.

 According to WHO, we lose nearly 800,000 people worldwide every year from self-slaying, that is, suicide. Though its rate has dropped by 10% since 2010, as the world’s population has grown, the number of its victims hasn’t decreased so much with all the efforts to prevent it made by WHO and other sections. As for Japan, the total number of suicide victims has been decreasing for 9 years straight, but 2018 saw a slight increase in the bracket under 19. And it’s still the leading cause of death among the age of 15 to 39.

 Suicide couldn’t be apoptosis, a virtuous cycle of life and death. It doesn’t just put their survival family’s life in misery, but also brings crippling damage to economy since they would have been the precious part of the workforce hadn’t they committed such a horrible thing.  Each self-murder represents the loss of roughly 25 million yen in GDP, amounting to 1 trillion yen in all. It would be obviously beneficial to devise some preventive measures against it.

 So, the question is, what could possibly drive people into suicidal behavior? How could we deal with it? I hope we’ll have meaningful discussions.

<Questions>
Q.1
 What makes you feel sad or depressed?

Q.2
 How do you pull yourself out of sadness or depression?

Q.3
 Why do people commit suicide?

Q.4
 What could we do to prevent suicide?
