みなさんこんにちは！

4/6（土）に行われた第５７回workshopの報告をさせていただきます。

 

今回はテレビで前日から報道されていた通り、「春の嵐」で大荒れの

天気の中開催されました。

そのような中でも７６名の方にお越しいただき、

いつも通りの盛況の会となりました。

 

昼間は雨足もあまり強くありませんでしたが、

workshopが始まる少し前から雨が激しくなり、

会の終了後、外に出ようとしたときには

まさに「バケツをひっくり返したような」雨が！

 

今帰ってもずぶ濡れだし、と意外に多くの方が

懇親会にも参加されていましたね。

ざっと５０名弱の方がおられたでしょうか。

 

懇親会が終了したときには、雨もやんで

傘もささずにスムースに帰れました。

 

雨宿りの一杯も悪くないですね。

 

マテリアルですが、

今回の前半はOさんに作成していただきました。

 

テーマはNameということで、

いわゆる「キラキラネーム」に関する質問も。

私がいたテーブルには、台湾人のメンバーがおられて、

同じ漢字文化でも、名づけに関しては様々な文化の

違いも話題にあがり、とても興味深かったです。

 

後半はUさんによる”poverty”がテーマのディスカッションでした。

 

Uさんにご推薦いただいた映画「ルワンダの涙」は

ルワンダ虐殺下で生じた公立技術学校の虐殺事件に

基づいた映画ということですが

Wikipediaの事件に関する説明を読むだけでも、

アフリカの貧困問題は、様々な問題が絡み合った

複雑な問題であることがうかがえました。

 

我々のテーブルでは、アフリカの貧困問題を

中心に議論が行われましたが、年越し派遣村など

日本国内の貧困問題も

多くメディアに取り上げられています。

こちらの話題を議論されたグループもあったのではないでしょうか。

今回は前半のマテリアルをOさん、後半のマテリアルをUさんに作成していただきました。

前半は”Name”、後半は”poverty”というテーマでディスカッションを行ないます。

＜FIRST HALF＞

こんにちは。Oと申します。今回の前半のテーマはNameです。

みなさんのお名前には、いろんな意味や願いが含まれていると思います。名前とは一生のお付き合いなので、自分の名前に対していろんな思いがあるのではないでしょうか。

最近はキラキラネームなる変わった名前もよく耳にしますよね。

今回を機に、メンバーの方の名前を覚えることができたら幸いです！

（設問ごとに必ず一人一回発言して下さいネ）

 

1. Please introduce yourself, and explain your name. (ex. Who named you? Is there any meaning in your name?)

Do you like your name?

 

2. Our names reflect fashion when we were born.

The attached lists are the top 10 names in 1984 and 2012. How do you feel?

Can you read all of the names in the list of 2012?

 

3. Do you have specific names you want give your children in the future?

Or if you already have children, what’s their name? And why you named them so?

 

If your group still has time, please talk about kirakira-name.

Hello folks,

 

My name is U.

Since I had participated in a volunteer activity helping refugees from Sudan and Somalia,

I have really been into poverty issues especially in Africa.

Some of you might know little about the topic we are about to discuss right now, but doing some research on the internet and sharing your thoughts with the members will absolutely broaden your horizons.

Today I would like you to talk about “poverty”.

 

Q1)What is “poverty”? What kind of situation is this? Define “poverty”?

 

Q2)We hear about poverty abroad through the media we consume. How do these stories make you feel? Why do you feel that way?

Q3) What is the root cause(s) of poverty?  Why does it happen? (Example: Conflict, dictatorship, lack of healthcare, etc…)

 

Q4)What are some ways to help lessen poverty in the world? What can the international community(such as the UN) do to alleviate poverty?

Should wealthy nations give aid to poor nations?

Please explain how it could be done and the benefits of implementing these methods.

 

Q5) What barriers are there to helping people in poverty?

 

Q6) How should these barriers be eliminated?
