＜Agenda＞
Why do people watch sports games?

今年はスポーツ観戦が好きな人には楽しい年ではないでしょうか。
2月にはオリンピックが開催され、6月16日のワークショップ当日にはすでにFIFAワールドカップも開幕しています。
オリンピック・ワールドカップともに、世界中で非常に多くの人が観戦しています。
共にブラジルで開催された2016年のリオオリンピックと2014年のブラジルワールドカップを例に挙げると、
観客動員数はリオオリンピックが117万人、ブラジルワールドカップは342万人で、
TV視聴者数はリオオリンピックが約50億人、ブラジルワールドカップは約260億人と言われています。（共に延べ人数）
自分がプレーしているわけではありませんし、試合結果がどうなろうが、我々自身の生活には対して影響しません。
なのにこれだけ多くの人々がスポーツを観て、熱く盛り上がり、時にはがっかりし、心を揺さぶられる。
それはなぜでしょうか？実は4年前のマテリアルのリバイバルなのですが、
今回は「人はなぜスポーツを観るのか？」というテーマでディスカッションしていただこうと思います。

1. Did you watch Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang?
If so, introduce the most impressive scene for you to your group members.
If not, who do you think is the most enthusiastic sports fan around you?

2. Are you planning to watch World Cup in Russia?
If so, which game are you planning to watch?
If not, state your impressions of spending time to watch sports games.

3. Why enthusiastic sports fans sometimes cause troubles over the results of the sports games?

4. Tokyo Metropolitan Government estimates the national economic effect of Olympic Games in Tokyo will be 32 trillion yen.
Why some sports games have major economic effects?

5. Why do people watch sports games? Please consider based on the opinions for the questions above.

6. International Olympic Committee states, “The goal of Olympism is to place sport at the service of the harmonious develop of humankind, with the view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity.”

Capital punishment, which some also call the death penalty, has been around societies for hundreds of years.
I want you to discuss Capital punishment today.

3. Does the death penalty prevent crimes? Why? / Why not?

4. Please share your opinion from the view of Retribution / Human rights / Religion.

6. Capital punishment is a legal penalty in Japan. 80% of Japanese agree to Death Penalty. According to group decision in Q5, please discuss the purpose of government subsidies.
