＜英語サークル　E’s club　第７３回workshopのご案内＞

 

みなさまこんばんは、E’s club幹事のKです。第７３回workshopの詳細をお送りいたします。

 

今回は前半のマテリアルをMさん、後半のマテリアルをHさんにそれぞれご作成いただきました。

前半は”Motivation Ver. 3.0″、後半は”Municipal tax and its uses of Local governments”というテーマでそれぞれディスカッションを行ないます。

＜FIRST HALF＞

■モチベーション３．０ — 持続する「やる気」をいかに引き出すか　モチベーション維持の方法

前半のマテリアルを担当する松下です。モチベーションについて考えてみたいと思います。企業はもちろん学校，家庭でもモチベーションは大きな成果や充実した生活に直結するため非常に重要だと思います。

しかしながら，これまでのモチベーションはアメとムチ（信賞必罰）に基づいて与えられることが多く，最近では様々な場面において大きな効果を出せずに機能不全に陥っていると感じています。

以下のディスカッションを通じて，モチベーションについて改めて考えることで，ご自身のモチベーション維持の方法を発見，再認識することに繋がれば幸いです。

*先に質問を読んでから資料をご確認頂くと回答しやすいと思います。

 

Q1: Do you agree with the idea we need to upgrade our motivation OS from ver. 2.0 to ver. 3.0? And why do you think so?

The motivation OS

– Ver. 2.0: based on the carrot-and-stick approach (rewards-and-punishments approach)

– Ver. 3.0: based on intrinsic motivation

 

Q2: Have you ever seen or experienced the fatal defects of the carrot-and-stick approach? Please tell us your experiences. And what did you learn from them?

The fatal defects of the carrot-and-stick approach are listed below.

– Diminished intrinsic motivation

– Lower performance

– Less creativity

– “Crowding out” of good behavior

– Unethical behavior

– Addictions; and

– Short-term thinking

 

Q3: Pink says autonomy is one of the three elements which the new operating system for the businesses revolves around.

Please remember your best work. Do you think autonomy played an important role in it? If so, which was the most important aspect in your autonomy? And why do you think so?

The four main aspects in autonomy are listed below.

– When they do it (time)

– How they do it (technique)

– Whom they do it with (team)

– What they do (task)

 

Q4: Please tell us what makes you motivated and passionate. Anything like curiosity is welcome. What should you do to keep or maximize your intrinsic motivation?

Good evening, I’m Takuya Horii. The topic of next latter half is “Municipal tax and its uses of Local government”.

In latter half, firstly please share your thinking and idea regarding “Municipal tax”. Second, I’m preparing some topics to have discussion about Osaka city.

Then, I prepared some material (1) “The items and explanation of Local tax”, (2) “Osaka city’s budget in 2013FY”.

Please check previously how much tax you pay to City, town or village you live and how the tax is used.

I’m really looking forward to share your ideas and discuss the topics with you.

ディスカッションルール

・時間は１トピック１５分（グループ内の作戦会議５分、ディスカッション１０分）ｘ２回（計３０分）

トピック１）市税の増税について

トピック２）公共サービス・施設の規模縮小について

・６人１テーブルで、３人グループを二つ作成。

・それぞれのグループが、一回ずつ「市民」と「行政」の役割を果たす。

 

（行政側）

(1)財政難のため、市税の増税と公共サービス・施設の休廃止を実現させたい。

(2)但し、最終的には市民側からの承認をもらう必要がある。

（市民側）

(1)生活水準を維持するため、原則的には増税、公共サービス・施設の休廃止は認めたくない。

(2)但し、行政側の意見を全く受け入れないことは好ましくない。

 

上記ルールに従い、最終的に両者の間で何かしらの結論を出してください。上記に記載されている項目以外であれば何を話していただいても結構です。それでは宜しく御願い致します。

Divide your table’s members into 2 groups of 3 members.

GroupA(3members) plays the role of “Government” in 1. and “Citizens” in 2.

GroupB(3members) plays the role of “Citizens” in 1. and “Government” in 2.

 

1. Municipal taxes

Purpose) To ensure the minimum revenue for minimum management

(1)Group meeting (19:40～19:45)

(2)Discussion (19:45～19:55)

 

2. Scaling down of Public services & facilities

Purpose) To minimize the expenditure and realize optimized government.
